Travel Adaptors for New York

I'm travelling to New York tomorrow morning, I'll be bringing over my camcorder but I'm worried incase I can't charge it over there. I was looking in the Argos book for adaptors/transformers, I saw this: Compact surge protected travel adaptor, do I need this to charge the camcorder or would a normal adaptor do even though the voltage is different from Ireland?

    Cheers!

check on the power supply of you camcorder, normally they all support 110-230 Volts, if so, then you just need an adaptor for the the plug but nothing else.

On the power supply adaptor of the camcorder it says AC100-240V, so this is ok then?? All I need is a normal travel adaptor?

    Thanks!!
