Where to buy ribbons?

I need ribbons for making some old clothes and shoes novel again. What sort of a shop would sell ribbons? (I have no idea!) Do you know of any shops with a good selection in Galway or Cork? (I've looked in Eason's but they don't have a vast range).

    Thanks in advance!

Try Hickey's...the fabric & blind shop! They are in Galway...don't ask me where exactly..sense of direction what sense of direction!

They stock all kinds of dressmaking bits & bob

    They are also in Limerick

You can get full rolls of ribbon for a reasonable price at any of the florist suppliers. Nice black satin ribbon about 2cm in width and 25M long with a sewn border works out at about 16-20 Euro for a full roll (and 25 metres should last a while!)

There are a few such warehouse places off Jamestown Road in Finglass.

An alternate would be one of the Christmas warehouses (e.g. Big J in Ballymount etc.)

    Hope this helps,

    S.

There's a big haberdashers in Galway - I think it might be the Hickeys mentioned above. Anyway the one I'm thinking of is right on the main street - You can't miss it. It's to the left of the Kings Head and looks like a shop where you'd buy school uniforms and your mam's type of clothes. Loads of cool bits and bobs of trimmings upstairs.

Theres a Hickey's in Dublin..on Henry Street, beside the Early learning centre. And theres a place on the quays too, I forget the name, its beside Merchants Arch and it goes right through to Templebar. Trimmings?? Good idea, I need me some ribbon for my Con's.
