What have you got it connected to? What setting have you got it on? Adhoc or infrastructure?

Straight into my nic on my pc.
    I've tried both settings.
But how is setup looking for the wireless g ?
Does it search through the nic or through the wireless lan? Cause i havnt a wLan setup yet!!

Um.. I have one of these. Its plugged into my xbox and connects via a wireless ADSL gateway. Have you followed the setup instructions? I think I remember when setting mine up (only took a couple of mins) plugged into lan socket on PC, then plugged into xbox and that was it.
What are you going to use it for? I have a wireless PCI card in my comp and a wireless card in my laptop. All three connect to broadband via the ADSL gateway.

but when you were setting it up did you have a wireless network setup already?

I set it all up at the same time. Unless you have another wireless device for it to connect to I doubt it would do anything. You should be able to plug it into the lan socket on your PC and set up the adapter, but it won't be usable till it has another wireless device to connect to.
Plug it into your PC before powering up. Can't remember, but there may have been a drivers cd with it as well.

I think there is a little switch on those to change the connection on the ethernet port from a straight through to a crossover. Try messing with that. The setup program should find the device regardless of the wireless setup.
Also, make sure you have TCP/IP set up on your computers network card.

I've tried everything bar the wlan.
I reckon i got screwed with a broken one.
The yokie makes a kindof hissing sound all the time and gets fairly hot when plugged in.
    Is this usual?
