Anyone seen this? And what did ye think?

Personally, I can identify in far too many ways with the lead character dude... (don't have some of his less endearing traits... but still) - which is a bit disturbing.

I though the movie was good craic, but took -slightly- too long winding up at the end, - so much so that you expected it to keep dragging on and when the end -did- come it was like... "oh... thats it ... ah... um... good film, yeah..."

    thoughts?

    Yep, enjoyed this one...

John Cusack who I normally hate was great in the lead role and there were some very funny moments in it.

The book on which the film is based is actually set in London and I wouldn't mind reading it.

I dunno how else you end this sort of film without getting too silly.

I'd recommend it to anyone who has been, wanted or attempted to have a relationship.

personally, the bit where Tim Robbins gets the s hite kicked out of him is one of the funniest things ive seen this year. Not that ive got anything against Tim Robbins, of course. Great film, related to it a lot, just substitute films for music and your almost there.

Say hello to my little friend !!!

Never saw it, just the quote on TV where some guy is asking for CD of some obscure band for his daughter and the guy asks "Ooh I'm so sorry, how long has she been in a coma?"

Have to agree with Plastic, that scene was so funny.
Great film, John Cusack is the king! I love any film with him in it. It was the same team who made Gross Point Blank as well.
The ending of the fim is exactly the same in the book. It even says what a great ending for a film it would make.

He was actually looking for "I Just Called To Say I Love You" smile.gif

Anyway, great flick. I nearly died from laughter when he was imagining what he'd do to Tim Robbins - especially the bit where the bald guy jumps from behind the counter and... I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.

very good flick - if it had been more "main stream", it'd be this year's American Pie.

    All the best,

I liked it, thought John Cusack was great. Didnt like the woman who played Laura much though, her voice annoyed me.

I know my ickle bro has posted a thing about this already but the book was really good, I thought it was better than the film. smile.gif
