I'd imagine it would be very pricey sim free. Main con I'd see
is the battery life, and the memory cards used by SE are
memory duo's which are real expensive and low capacity.

Read this review though, might help

It can. It takes Sony MS Duo sticks up to 128MB. It also has an internal memory of 32MB I think. So max. available memory is around 160MB.

it's only out SIM Free about a week - so very high 'early adopter' pricing at the moment

check this thread for more info - it's been discussed a lot previously

If you're looking for a cameraphone and a back-up MP3 player, you will enjoy the S700i. I cannot make it crash. I'm dragging and dropping sound and stills onto its credit-card size screen (via removeable media). The keys in my pocket don't scratch its tough screen. It talks Bluetooth to Sony devices (including TVs), Nokia Ngages, and Motorola V710s. It feels solid, is manufactured to high Japanese spec and does what it says on the tin. I can get 128 MB Memory Stick Duo cards for $45 so I'm happy with the pricey side of the S700i. If you weren't into long playing sound or video, I don't think you would encounter any constraints when running the S700i as your primary phone.

The 128mb duo's are down to €49 in the shops now so, not that expensive if you dont have an option to buy online either.

Ordered a 128MB one from shop4memory a few days ago for €46. Haven't seen them lower anywhere else.

Went in the CPW the other day asked about this beauty. got handed a real one (to my suprise), fell in love straight away, until I heard the sim free price 700 euro. handed it back and walked off. But it is such a nice phone a lot smaller than I first thought.

    PROS:
    Lovely phone
    decent size when closed

    CONS:
PRICE 700 Euro not worth it, since it can be bought from the internet for 550 euro or possibly less.
