I'm looking for a Web Designer for a friend of mine. Looking for someone to design a website and come up with some logos for stationary etc....

Probably a weeks work - MAX

Anyone up for it? If you can PM with your contact details and a link to some examples of your work.

I'd appreciate it if people took the time to reply to me properly rather than just quoting a link.

My friend has a quote on the table for €5500. Now he is not going to pay this - but it should be worth a few quid to someone.....Certainly enough to take the time for a proper reply!!!

I'll give it a shot for €5000, but it's got to be a week max, I wont work anymore than that without at least six months off.

Thanks but I'll keep an eye out for someone a little less demanding!!

Well if you can't follow simple instructions that doesn't bode well....

Also if you can't be bothered to put any more effort in than simply spouting a link to your website that also doesn't bode well...

Now if you want to get abusive that really shows you up on a personel level..

look at the link i posted, then look at the link in my sig.... do ya *really* think i'm involved in provision--i think not!! its my brother who set up pro vision...

i thought i was being helpfull... **** him tho... i have no time for ignorance... he asked for contact info, links to examples of work.. its ALL in the link ffs..
At the very least, you could have said, "My brother does budget web sites, here's a link to his site, it has contact info. If you want you can PM me, and I'll ask him directly..". That kind of thing. You've just lost your brother some business. Kudos.

maybe provide him with your brother's contact details?

(if you have flash disabled you just see a blank screen, and if you enable flash you have to sit through a 5 second intro before you are even allowed to find out that there is only an email contact form with no details)

I think it would have been a better idea not to post anything.

This whole thread has got very nasty very quickly- started off as a simple fair request and soon became something else :D . Can't we all be nice to each other.

Peace & love to all !

I wouldn't worry about it; nothing on that site is worth €5.50, let alone €5500.

I'd be interested in taking the job, with a friend of mine who does graphics. If it's still availible that is. www.evilwhite.com is one sample, i can give you more on request if necessary.

AT a quick cursory glance I can see 2 spelling mistakes in the portfolio.

Portfolio Website is self-explanatory, is 4 years old, so some links in on-line section are dead. Contact form not usable, server does not accept php mail-form.
R-vamp of portfolio unfinished (and won't be for very long as am doing soft. dev. traineeship so too busy) @ http://www.minimo.eu.tt

it certainly shows off your ability, but its too fiddly, and the navagation is just too awkward.
if i want to find something, i wint to find it quite. not enough time to peruse.

hopefully you will find that constructive.
oh, and you have a spelling mistake in your first link window (i think, well, i know its spelling mistake, but i think its in the first window :))

As a rule I believe that a website should only use an entry page if you actually need it to do something (language selection, location selection, ...). Otherwise they're just clunky and look unprofessional in my view.

Also, if I visited any site made by someone and it unnecessarily resized my browser window (*twice* in your case) using Javascript I would dismiss them out of hand.
