Irish drivers licence - Asia/Oz/S.america

    Lads,

    Can I use my Full Irsh Licence to drive cars in Asia/Oz and South America or do i need an international licence, if so, how do you get an International licence etc.

    You officially need an international driving license if yer staying in Oz,
    for more than 3 months.
    (not sure about Asia/S.Ameria)
    You can get one easily form aaireland,
    by fillin in this form.

    Ya dont need a driving license in Asia, money is license from my experience.

    Pop into your local AA office and theyll sort you out in no time. It only costs something like a tenner and its prob better to have it just to be on the safe side. It looks like you could make it up yourself anyway with a bit of paper and some pritt-stick!! ;)

    I travelled around Oz for a year and didn't need an international licence - my Irish licence was fine. Even when pulled over by the cops in Queensland and randomly breathalised, they were fine with just my Irish licence.
