Where's the best site for buying chips online?

Hey guys - hoping you can help me. I'm trying to buy a set of decent (but not too expensive) chips. I'd probably ideally like to buy a set (as in chips, cards etc) as it's a gift. Everywhere I've found seems to be incredibly expensive and huge postage costs. Any tips or advice where to look?

You could try Special Days in Grafton St. - seem to have good sets at reasonable prices.

Check this thread for more online http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=181269
or search for cheap chips on the board. There have been numerous threads on it. You will be looking at somewhere near €100 for a decent set in a case with crappy cards including shipping costs.

Not the worst out there. Wouldn't be a bad idea to find out how many colours in the tin of 100 chips. 3 colours is as much as anyone really needs for homegames, maybe 4 colours if there's a lot of players.

Having a lot of time on my hands in work, I just counted the chips in the picture and I reckon there's 25 of each colour there.

If you're in dublin, have a look in special days as it will give you an idea of what kind of chips you might want to get.

I bought a set of 500 from the GolfHQ place mentioned in the thread linked in Henbanes post above. Cost about €90 including postage. I do not think you will see a much better deal then that.

That $500 Hellmuth chip is fantastic. I would totally use those to impress the ladies.

TK MAX in St Stephens Green Shopping Centre last week had two
of the cylinders with 2 decks of cards and 150 chips for 29.99 EURO each.
They looked okay and were way cheaper then Special Days.

Interested by the posts here. I have sourced a number of poker chips myself which I'l looking to sell which may be what you are interested in. The sets are 500pcs in aluminium case, 2 decks cards, 5 dice and a dealer button.

I'm based in Dublin City Centre and would be looking for about €60 per set.

Take a look at the pictures attached and contact me if you are interested.

They have fairly good (defo good enough for starters) in Heatons. Saw the set I bought for a whole lot less in there. 2 packs, plenty of chips and blinds etc. think it was down to 12e.

I was in Smyth's toy store at the weekend, and they have good sets in there, with Alluminium Cases, cards, etc. for about €50 I think, can't remember exactly how much they were, but I thought they were great value, the same ones I bought about a year ago for over €100!!

I got mine at DrinkStuff they are based in England. I got the set of 550 dice chips reviews down the bottom. Priced €67 at the moment. Shipping not too expensive delivery very quick. The numbers the various chips is customisable also. You get all the buttons etc... comes up as about €10 for shipping.

Anyway I would recommend them, I would also say to get the 500, for value and to future proof yourself.....

    I got 500 11.5g plastic, in a alu case, much the same as djkeogh's, with a shuffler for 29+10 P&P from ebay(New)!!!!!

Plastic chips? that may be the reason for the cheaper price.

If you're actively looking to sell chips to people then please go to the FS forums.
This thread is about where to look if you want to buy poker chips. Not the actual individual sale. And stop digging up old threads.

From what I know - we're considered the best price in Europe for chips - "Kelkoo Search"

Best value is 13.5g Clay 500 set which is now €79.

Prices have fallen approx 60-65% since last year due to factories making larger and larger quantities.

BTW - Grafton St store was only a temporary store for last Christmas - The stores are now located at Liffey Valley & The Square Tallaght + online at www.specialdays.ie or www.pokerwarehouse.co.uk

The above price will be updated tomorrow.
