I am laying semi solid at the weekend on all my downstairs (except the kitchen. So 2 rooms and a hall.

Is it necessary to lay self levellign compound on the whole floor?? or do i test the ground first?

In the mother in laws new extension there last week, the lad was laying about 20 odd sq yards and he did not pour anything. I tiled the same extension but kitchen area and the floor was cat and broke my heart. So to be honest if the floor is bad you are as well to pour it, will only help
