Has anyone heard "Just Lose It". It's god awful. It's not half as catchy as the first singles from his last three albums.

Paris Hilton is meant to be in the video. His new album "Encore" is out on November 16th.

Its an awful song. I thought my band by d-12 was bad but this is a lot worse. I was hoping he wouldn't release another pop song first, like the first three albums. His new album will have to be very very good to make up for this.

Ah you love it really. It is catchy as hell.

    Its horrible...
    Eminems best was on Infinite.
Slim Shady and MArshall Mathers LP both classics,
Eminem Show was an average rap album.
As was Devils Night,D-12 World was piss poor.

Listen i think everyone should get out of this idea that rap music is suppose to be all about killin bling and bitchs, Eminem yet again went a different way on this single which will only leave him known as the greastest mc ever!!

    what you think?

i never said i did if u read my last post

although i have a good idea i mean; "whats your fav rap song" post a couple of months ago on boards, i read that and i laughed, i mean alot of u lake all this bling bling rap **** thats out now (and past) and you all end up dissen Em for being somewhat different. I ever really heard him talk about all the stuff he could buy with $20 million, have u ever heard him talk about his cars, houses, bling? the answer is no and i think its very narrow minded of u all to judge him on his fourth album! dont forget only a select few will ever get to realse a four or more albums, i will admit i think he's was runnin out of ways to say f**k off mother on his last album, but this album is about the state of america now, war and bush so lets all see the album before we decide ok, i'll renew this conversation with u when the album drops and we've all had a good listen.

    ok?

Philip I am sorry but you are an idiot. You are actually giving people who like Eminem(like me) a bad name by posting like an illiterate 10 year old cock. So for the love of God, Shut The **** Up!

We're talking about his single. From the thirty or so seconds i've heard its awful and a lot of people agree. This has nothing to do with eminems album and what he raps about. Its about his new single. Btw you laugh at the commercial "bling bling" rap but fail to point out that eminems first singles are some of the most commercial hip hop songs ever. For the record Im an eminem fan.

    She is in the video.

Watched it there on Launch - he walks up to her in the bar and punches him in the stomach!

Song is absolute tripe and the video is same ol' Eminem junk (taking piss outta celebrities / current events)

True, regardless of how **** rap is going, eminem rarely decides just to rap about bling, ho's and the hood. And if you listen to him he can you usally muster good lyrics, This is not to say he is great (well not like Cunninglynguists) but better than the rest of the stuff out there.

D12 di disapoint with there "My world" album.

I heard the song! Its a copy of mostly every other song he wrote. I love the music for it but hate the part when he starts screaming. I think it ruins the track!

I thought he just got caught touching himself in a porn cinema.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 650 ✭✭✭pgodkin

Yeah he's not a paedophile, he was slaggin micheal about it, did u see the jesus juice in the vid i taught it was really funny, and the par with dre " hey girl whats your name, whats your sign? Man you must be up out yo mind" was brillent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,258 ✭✭✭MrVestek

Yeah sorry that was a mistake on my behalf but i knew he had some sort of sexual conviction. Yeah i also spotted the 'Jesus Juice' thing... really funny

I think its ironc that he takes the pi$$ out of Vanilla Ice (a cheesy white rapper)

Eminem should learn a bit of respect for musical legends. I dont see how he can take the piss out of people who almost defined modern music. He takes the piss out of MJ in his new video. If it wasnt for MJ you wouldnt have the music video. He should be gratefull for what the likes of MJ and Madonna have done for him and the whole music Industry. Michael in perticular. When f-Eminem sells 52 million copies of his new album then he can insult who he wants to. I cant wait for MJ to sue the pants of Eminem. BET wont even play the music video.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 345 ✭✭Klimseven

So now your artistic freedom depends on how many CDs you have sold? So Britney Spears et al have more of a right to speak their minds than less commercially successfull ppl - sorry, I have trouble calling them "artists" - ?? And Vanilla Ice, a musical legend? Are you retarded?

Btw, I hate Eminems new single and everything he is spewing out lately, commercial bull**** which is really disappointing looking at a lot of his earlier stuff...hes become a parody of himself...or something...yay!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 778 ✭✭✭Only Human

I was mearly pointing out that Michael Jacksons music is more popular and appealed to more people than Eminems. I never said Vanilla Ice was a musical Genius, i said he was a cheesy white rapper. JUST LIKE EMINEM and that it was ironic he was insulting Vanilla Ice.

Hopefully, We will be looking back at Eminem with the same contempt we have of Vanilla Ice in the years to come.

He trully has lost whatever small bit of talent he may have had when DRE found him..............

Small bit of talent? Umm most people who know anything about rap know eminem has a lot of talent. Lyrically he's up there with the best. Just because you don't like the kind of songs he's putting out doesn't mean he has no talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

For someone with so much talent, his albums have gotten progresivley worse.
Does he really need to release a poppy single every time he has a new album?
    My Name Is
    The Real Slim Shady
    Without Me
this new one, whatever it's called.

My Name Is was a good song, but it's all getting a bit gimmicky and formulaic. You can nearly bet on the next single being more angsty and serious (The Way I Am, Cleanin' Out My Closet).

Yes this is all true but its nothing to do with my point. He said he had no talent...he clearly does. This is just the way he makes his albums. I agree with you about it being gimmicky and formulaic but this doesn't take away from his rapping talent whether it be his flow, style or lyrical ability.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭rabbitinlights

Im saying that he did have talent, His main talent was his lyrics, but no matter how good your lyrics are if they are put to crap pop music they loose there credibility, Some people might love his songs, im just saying that if i wanna listen to comedy i stick on a comedian, I wanna hear about real life stuff thats intresting and that stands the test of time, Not Hollywood gossip shít that is current for about 2 months.........

He is moving away from what inspired him in the first place, coming from a poor background, so now he is rapping about what he watchs on his TV, wacko jacko etc

In my opinion his current stuff is just "Hip Pop" a'la Chingy/Nelly
    S.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 925 ✭✭✭David19

Yeah fair enough but you can't say he had little talent and has none now. The talent is still there, its just that he's not using it. I'll wait to hear his album but it seems like he's running out of things to rap about, as you said. His rapping talents and his songs are two different things imo.

Very well put, I really wish he would use his skills and make some good music again, Because he is well able to. Its just that his current stuff is muck.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the album is significantly different to the single.

Personally I don't rate it, I think it's worse that the previous first single pop releases which Makaveli lists above. In my opinion the commercial machine behind Eminem will ensure that he sticks to the tried and tested formula of pre-releasing a poppy single and using it to generate sales of the album, but will then allow him more personal freedom with what he does on the remainder of the material. This way they reach the minimum amount of sales required to keep them in Armani as quick as possible, even if the fans aren't too sure about any new directions the material takes.

Again, In my opinion, his best work to date has been the Marshall Mathers LP. My theory is that that the more poppy, humour driven, material follows an artistic direction set by the afore mentioned commercial machine behind the Eminem brand, and I'd include Dre in this. The more rocky stuff, a lot of the Eminem Show, and a significant amount of the 8 mile stuff, comes more from Emimem himself. The later albums have been moving more towards the latter material as Eminem gradually gains more control of his artistic direction and production of the material, and comes out from under Dre's wing. I haven't heard much about the forthcoming album, but my guess is that it will again lean more in this direction, despite the impression given by the standard pop teaser single.

As I've mentioned above, I think his best material was on the MM LP, which is where the balance between Dre's influence and Eminems own ideas was at its best, rhymes loaded with black humour and giving a middle finger to political correctness, combined with skilled production. From his other mainstream releases, the Slim Shady LP was Eminem the disposable gimmick, and the Eminem Show was overly aggressive, with obvious rock influences which detracted from its effectiveness in my opinion. Both albums definitely had some good individual tunes, but I am assessing them as a whole.

on a lighter note aren't the kids that dance in the video really cute AND funky. Pity the foul truth is they're just there to poke fun at MJ's pheadophillic* ways, *-did i spell that right?

Just heard the song "Encore" from the album. With Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

This is so bad. Kinda like "What You Say" from the last album, but much worse. Ugh the chorus is very annoying too. Looks like this album is gonna be terrible.

Going back to "Just Lose It", I can't think of softer targets than Michael Jackson and MC Hammer. There's nothing the slightest bit controversial about the song or the video. I mean, Pee Wee Herman???

And Paris Hilton, two albums ago he would have been ripping the p*ss out of her, not having her in the feckin video.

    The end of Eminem, imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

Oh you can be sure it wont be the end of Eminem.
