Does anybody know the best way to create a toolbar similar to the google one. http://toolbar.google.com/

Ive heard it could be coded using Delphi but i don't know much about this language.

I have also been told about coding it using C++ and the ATL libraries.
Being from a java background I have little experience in this. I would be willing to go down this route.

I am looking at this for IE rather than Mozilla at the moment.

    All ideas appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

You can create on with C++.

Theres a tutorial here: http://www.codeproject.com/atl/ietoolbartutorial.asp the page takes a while to fully load.

Thanks, i was looking at that over the weekend.

2 libraries he wrote are required to use the toolbar.
I was aiming to start from scratch, depending on difficulty i might stick with his approach.

Far as I know, those things are called "ToolBand" objects. A search for that or related keywords in the MSDN should give you some info.

If you are using IE, take a look at IE's Band Objects components.

Heres a link to a walkthrough using .NET/C#, you should be able to find samples for most languages now you know what to look for.

    http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/dotnetbandobjects.asp

I did one last year based on this sample and it worked well, the only problem I had was trying to make an installer for it.

Please dont do it. Not another toolbar. My younger brothers and cousins had access to my computer during the summer and by september there was so many bloddy toolbars installed that there was or room for the webpage. Those dam ActiveX signed app popup's they just clicked install everytime.

Just kidding but. Best of luck.
