quake 3 wont load

    i installed q3 on my pc with the latest patch
    when i run the exe the blue console comes up and nothing happens
    but in processes it says q3 is running
    does anyone one have any idea of how i might go about resolving this problem?

    The first thing I'd try is a total clobbering of the q3 directory. Uninstall and then manually delete the q3 folder and anything else inside it. Do a vanilla install and see if it runs off the bat.

    That is of course assuming you've already checked any error message in the blue console, and your video/sound drivers are up to date.

    If the basic install, without any patches isn't running then. You're going to have to dig deeper.

    ya basic install with out patch is not working i dont know where to check :(

    what gfx card do you have?
    what version of the gfx card drivers do you have?
    and most importantly, what does the (blue) console say?

    ok it just didnt like the gfx drivers i was using
    sorry about that i realy should have tried it before posting
