    I bought an x arcade joystick from the states and i was trying to get it to work with mame32 , the problem i'm having is that , the default directional controls for mame are set to the cursors on the keyboard , but instead they are set to the number pad keys on the joystick , i tried to tab the menu to change the controls in mame but it wont let me go down through the menu , is my mame faulty , i tried to recallibrate the x arcade joystick but failed .

    You should be able to configure Mame32 to use you X-Arcade easily.
    I use Mame32+ (very similar GUI).

    Under Default Game Options->Controllers Tab.
    Select XArcade from the Default Input Layout drop down list.

    Should help.

    Yep, I use that version of Mame32 along with my X-Arcade, all you need to do is select X-Arcade in the control settings and bob's your uncle.

    I remember having to add an extension to the command line to get my joystick working. "-joy" i believe it was.
