I was checking out Sacred Cow Productions for some Bill Hicks stuff, and came across some Alex Jones clips. I've heard of the guy before, and he's featured on that new Sky One series "Conspiracies".

Now, some of the stuff he was saying was pretty interesting and compelling the problem is, most conspiracy theories are but that doesn't make them plausable. He seems to know a hell of a lot although I'm not sure how much is accurate but no matter how honest his information is he seems to come across as a ranting nut. His more plausable theories seem to be overshadowed by the more off the wall ones, which would allow anyone to ignore what he was saying.

It would be odd to find out he was spot on in 20 years time.. hopefully that wont happen!!

(by the way, I wasn't sure what forum would be best, I think conspiracy theories wouldn't really suit the politics forum, even though they usually rotate around politics, if the mods want to move it, please feel free.)

There's a section in the Jon Ronson book "Them" which Jones is involved in. As far as I can remember, Ronson was with him when he got into Bohemian Grove and taped the events that went on there. It's a very interesting read, and if you're interested in Jones or people like him, I'd recommend you to read it (If you haven't already)

The things about which he talks do provide thought but, as you said, he does come across as a complete ranting nutcase a lot of the time. He's very enthusiastic about his subject and, as a result, tends to frighten people away from what he's saying.

I've had a few casual glances over his infowars since watching that conspiracies program on Sky 1 (Although it's hard to find conspiracies plausible when they're being presented by Danny Wallace whose drunken bet sent Dave Gorman on a nakesake search :p), and some of the stuff on it is fairly interesting, but kinda hard to believe.

As you say though, time will tell us.

From what I've read about him, he strikes me as a disinformation agent. Llike Whitely 'I was abducted by aliens' Strieber.

He's a crack head. Check out the clip where he won't go on Kevin Booth's show because his other guest doesn't agree with Jones's stuff. Booth is trying to tell him that it makes the show balanced and enforces Jones's stuff. Says it all really. He actually seems insane, and I usually like crackpot theories!
