    my dvd writer - the one in main rig in sig

    getting on my nerves now, sometimes the green light comes on, like if its trying to read a disc or something..and it just stays on...with no disc in

    it crashed my pc last night and i restarted..green light stayed on i pressed eject and nothing happen...oh god its just opened, it took about 2minutes to actually open!

    it doesnt always do this, its a great little burner, but why the hell does it just "hang" every so often?

    Did you recently install Sp2, Check for driver updates.

    nah i had sp2 before this drive..then removed the stupid thing..THEN got the drive

    and yes there is another device ..my samsung dvd rom/cd-rw the nec is the master though...

    i have indeed because when i first bought it i forgot and it refused to show up in the bios

    after checking all the cables i finally thought about jumper settings, set it to slave and then it worked :D
