... gets the thumbs up from me.

Julia Roberts actually acts. Wow. And she's pretty damn good too.

The script is fast and VERY funny, and quite touching in places.

I expected it to suck. I was very pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a shockingly good movie.

    Ja,
    Rob

Usually when you expect a half decent film to suck you'd really enjoy it wink.gif. But this really is a pretty good film.

PS: did you spot the real Erin Brockovich in the film?

Yeah, i saw her. damn fine flick all the same. I didnt really want to go see it, but i got in for free (one of the perks of being a regular of Castlebar Movie World, WOOHOO!), so i couldnt complain. Roberts is pretty good, but the reason it works is because of the director Steven Soderburgh. The man can make a dead dog carcass look cool. Out Of Sight, rockin' film.

I hate Julia Roberts but she was good in this, excellent film all in all. As Plastic Membrane rightly points out, I was gonna pass this one til I saw Steven Soderbergh was directing - he rules.

Anyone see The Limey (also Soderbergh) recently? Got a v limited release i.e. two weeks in the Screen at D'Olier St smile.gif very good tho, get it out on video if you missed it - top notch Soderbergh, and Terence Stamp is one of those 60 year old blokes who can still be cool smile.gif
