I read on another post that someone got one of the new Prescott chips that run 6-10C cooler then the first chips. But can anyone tell me how to identify said chips?

Does anyone stock them?...are Newegg currently shipping said chips?
I'd be interested in a 3.4 Prescott if they are the new version with lower temps.

    Any insight is appreciated.

Stepping is D0 rather than C0 seemingly they run at temps similar to northwood.

Temps on my system with stock hsink and cooler/3GHz prescott runs are 39c idle

D0 stepping, would this be it?

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-177&depa=0

The price is sweet right now, and if i sold my 3.2C i wouldn't have to add a huge amount to the cost.

Damn, i wish i knew what Newegg were shipping, i guess it's just luck of the draw.

Hey man a complete n00b question, but I was interested by this and when I visited newegg to check it out I too was amazed by the prices. However it states in their site that they do not ship inernational orders. Is there some way around this or not?

A stepping is essentially a revision of a chip.

The name comes from the machines (steppers) that transfer a pattern from a mask onto a chip via light and light-sensitive material.
