Aer1 top is what seems to be a loop for perhaps 2-way radio (taxi, for example). Lower one is a wideband Grid (aka Colour King), possibly for RTE's.

Aer2 - The big long one is probably for the BBC's due to its high gain size. The square one beside it looks like an MMDS receiver, or even perhaps was for wireless broadband or networking?

Sat is basically a sat dish for Sky Digital signals.

Hi there, welcome along... Aer1 top looks like DAB aerial, but more likely its a outdoor FM Radio aerial. The little loop at the back may be for AM reception.

    Hi guys
    Aer1...this stack has two antennae
top one is a two way radio base aerial prob used to receive /transmit two way by taxi,or could even be long range cordless telephone system (can transmit/receive up to 6 miles/9km.As for the loop in the wire at the back ,this is an indication of it being professionally installed,as the loop is to restrict interference. Also it has been discovered that the loop can be a lifesaver if an amp or filter box has to be fitted afterwards as there is enough spare cable in the loop!
the lower aerial on this stack is a log gain unit for receiving bbc,utv,ch4 etc in an area close to the transmitter (ie navan)...if you look close i think there is a box, prob an amp, just below top wall bracket?

Aer2.....left one is a grid aerial for receiving local MMDS signals ie chorus,NTL etc.the right hand one is a higher gain ,uni directional version of the bbc aerial in aer1.this looks like an arrow and actually picks signals in the direction OPPOSITE the arrow!.signals pass along the length of the aerial towards the "arrow"and are reflected off the inside of this arrow back down onto the connection where the cable is connected.

    Aer3....standard astra/Sky dish

    hope this helps

AER1 is a Motorola Dipole antenna.
By the look of it, I'd say its tuned to @ 470mhz (UHF) - mostly Taxi's. The small one below it on the same pole is used for data (similar to a microwave) - probably used in conjunction with the UHF one.
As well as having voice comms, some cab firms now send telemetry info direct to the cars, and it pops up on a little screen with the calls (touch-screen job). The nearest driver chooses the call and then it dissapears.
This house must have been a cab base at some stage.

The lads are also correct with the explanation of the other aerials.

The Dipole loop is VHF. Definately not UHF. It isn't specifically anything to do with Motorola at all.

Could be FM Radio, Amateur radio or Taxi, hard to judge exact size. Multiply length from tip to tip x2 for wavelength in Meters. Frequency in MHz = 300/wavelength in meters.

In any case it will work well for FM VHF Radio compared with wire at back of HiFi.

The rest aerials are as described.

Arial : A washing power or a minor classical "god" also known as Mercury (one is Greek name and the other the Roman name).

Aerial: a device to turn radio waves into electrical currents and vice versa.

    Afraid not ....

The loop is whats known as a lightening break , lightening hits antenna and travels down cable burning conductor in cable until it goes around the loop and stops , therefore not damaging equipment any futher down the cable .
