RTE News has learned that Peter Dunne, a worker-director at Aer Rianta, is to leave the company next week.

Mr Dunne had been very vocal in his opposition to the Minister for Transport's plans to restructure the state airports company.

The new board of the Dublin Airport Authority will take up its responsibilities in October. The nomination of worker-directors to the new board has yet to take place.
