Stretched Canvas

I've been amused and bemused at what passes for modern art in restaurants and places like Habitat. I reckon I could do better myself. How hard can it be to splosh brown paint and dab a bit of gold?

To that end I'm becoming an artist. Where can I buy some cheap stretched canvas??

Oh and paint, probably acrylic or whatever it is that they splosh on? Anyone know?

Any assistance will be rewarded with free entry into my first exhibition, circa, the end of November.

Art + Hobby shop - branches in Blackrock, Dun Loaghaire, Stephens Green Ctr, etc.

Is that place not a bit pricey? Where do real artists go?

    Like your work. Good stuff.

"Real" artists stretch their own canvas..supposedly. This allows them to make non standard sizes and saves money for laudnum (or vodka these days, I suppose).

If you are genuinely looking at doing your own painting, you can buy online form Wizard.ie - Get a couple of small pallete knives rather than brushes and latyher the stuff on good and thick - it'll easily pass for "pub/restaurant modern art" ;)
