Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, but how does one go about getting their own e-mail address i.e john@whateveryouwant.ie ?

If you want a custom e-mail address like:

    neo@NeoSlicerZ.ie

you would need to register the domain 'NeoSlicerZ.ie' and arrange to have a mail virtual host set up on a server for you. They normally come as part of domain hosting packages. Then you could have whatever address you want a that domain.

As mentioned above, there are/were some providers who had snapped up loads of domains and squatted on them who offered name@surname.com e-mail addresses.
