    Hi,
I've a zs2 sound card and z680 speakers. I had them connected using the supplied analog cable. Yesterday I received my digital cable, one end has the mini-plug connection for the zs2 and the other has the tos connection for the z680. So I removed the analog cable and inserted the digital cable but I'm getting no output. I've quadruple checked the connections, the cable is firmly inserted on both ends and in the right place. I've played around with settings in the speaker control panel for "spdif out only" but nothing.
aahhh, I'm going crazy and it's probably something really simple, help??

    Thanks.

Is it an optical cable your using ? If it is the standard ZS doesnt have an optical output, just a digital coaxial. You need the audigy2 zs plat (the one with the external box) to get optical out. tbh aside from the convenience of the single cable you wont notice any sound difference using digital anyway.

    It's the standard zs2.

I got a cable similar to this one,
    http://www.dcscable.de/product_info.php?cPath=28_263&products_id=1328

It has the right connections on each end.

I would like to watch movies with dolby 5.1. Using the analog cables powerDVD disables dolby 5.1 unless I purchase the full version. It does have an option to output audio using spdif so I was hoping to let the speakers do the decoding as they have it built in and listen to 5.1 that way.

afaik u should just have to enable digital out via the audigy drivers. At the bottom of the speaker settings page.

Diff Creative drivers can break/fix different things, so if u haven't updated them, then go to www.creative.com and update them (u can use the autoupdate on the 2ZS). Failing that, give creative a ring (they have a contact no. in ireland), and they can usually tell you a "fix". I ended up having to do the same when my live drive wasn't working, so he suggested trying the original drivers. I eventually settled on compaq drivers which were actually the latest creative released ones, but only available via the compaq site.

Oh, and Creative are SH*T at writing drivers.
