BT do the rehab trucker caps, not sure about the Ts, I presume they have a full range. I haven't gone in since I saw them netted trucker caps in the window though; they disgust me. Down with Von Dutch!

    Or get some of this

Where did you get it, I've tried the web for the Von Dutch site & they cost €45.00 on that!!!

    you're joking right?
i live southside dublin, small shopping centre called nutgrove in rathfarnham, although tbh i dont think they have any more, they were selling them for a fiver like i said. i'll sell you mine for €30, its still cheaper than the website!

That was a fake. Real Von Dutch t-shirts are pretty expensive, around the 50 euro mark.

I don't know why anyone would want one, they're quite scangery looking I think

Yeah have to agree - it must be one of the fake Zoe ones, I've found them in a shop in limerick, so thanks anyway

saw them (the real ones that is) in a shop in St. Stephens green on grafton st. in Dublin.

fake? that explains the price difference. i dont care though, it's just a t-shirt. the one i have is pretty nice, i dont get why someone would pay 50quid for something that looks pretty much the same.

Why would you want one in the first place? Von Dutch = skanger/chav uniform

oh yes von dutch, another staple of the D4 commerce ed's, I can imagine the conversation between them now:

Ian: "great fun to wear if your going for a few heino's with the lads in bondi"
Sorcha: "well, you can't wear that to anabel's"

I don't get why people like to have clothing company names on their t-shirts either. I'd miuch prefer to have a cool picture/cartoon or an interesting slogan or nothing at all.

Would anyone who does like company names on t-shirts explain why?

For me it's not about having a name on yout t-shirt, it's about having clothes that aren't common, I know that they may be available in dublin, but I've searched down south for these t-'s & they are no where to be got! I just hate having clothes that when you go to the pub on a sat night there are 10/15 other people there dressed partically the same as you. So that's why I don't care what I have to pay for clothes as long as I know that they are not readily available.

I like clothing company names on t-shirts that look cool....eg.. Quiksilver, Oakley, Ripwave, Animal etc... But yeh have to agree, why people buy plain t-shirts with jus plain simple text is bafflin eg.. Jack n Jones t-shirts

Doesn't it defeat the purpose then? You are getting a tshirt that everyone else does have? Maybe not down south as they are a little behind the times but they are sure to catch up?

Well, you can get unusual t-shirts in Cork (don't know about other southern places) if you shop in smaller shops rather than high street stores. Van Dutch is fast becoming ubiquitous.

Your wrong with this one, cork & limerick are way ahead of dublin for clothes. I have confirmed with the Von dutch importers about the reason they are not being carried in the south & basically no shop owner believes that there will nbe much of a market for it down here, dublin is a different case as a lot of dublin people wear designer clothes... I think this is a pain though cause Polo & Tommy etc are big enough down here. & If there do become available down here & become common then I'd be less inclined to wear mine.

Oh no, so you mean people here in Dublin are going to be wearing those God awful People's Republic of Cork T-shirts soon!!! Just get one of the fake ones on ebay if you are so desperate for one, sure they will be out of fashion soon enough anyway.

    Spoilt for choice

Ok I dont understand why people want these so much, they look tacky and crap.

I picked up a few stolen ones in thailand and a stolen cap just because they were little over a few euro but seriously anyone who pays 50 euro for them??? they look absolutely ****e for a designer item.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,730 ✭✭✭✭simu

Agreed. There's nothing special about them.

Sorry to disapoint you folks but already the chavs (the name they the Brits use for scumbags)in England have latched onto Von Dutch Caps and T-Shirts so i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole, its gonna go down the same route as Burberry check, shame really,i never was a fan of Von Dutch always thought it looked bit "GAY" although i did like Burberry before the filth hijacked it and made it unwearable for normal people who are into style..shameful.....
