Bush recognises global warming is real.

The Bush administration have finally backed down on their denial of global warming in face of overwhelming evidence. Bush's government have always contested that CO2 emissions caused global warming and refused to enforce policies to monitor and restrict industry greenhouse gas emissions.

It seems now that Bush has decided to come out and acknowledge that global warming is having a serious impact on our planet.

"All 10 of the warmest years on record have occurred since 1990, and 19 of the 20 warmest since 1980. Most experts, including the National Academy of Sciences, agree that heat-trapping pollution is the main cause for the unprecedented warming. They say average temperature increases of 3 to 10 degrees F will occur by the end of the century unless emissions are cut soon".

Despite this shift in policy, they are taking no action to actually curb emissions. Their stance is still one of self-regulation in the industry and the White House annoucement seems to be just another election soundbyte, after all, in his election campaign, Buch originally acknowledged the threat of global warming and the need to cut emissions, before performing a complete U-turn on his election.

I can't track down the exact quote...but I think it was the US secretary of the interior was quoted as saying (paraphrased) "humans couldn't possibly use all of gods resources"
