The Mayo county board in their wisdom have decided that in order to fatten the training fund, they're going to screw genuine supporters by selling tickets for the final in batches of 4 for €1,000. This unfortunately is true. My source is genuine - he'll be playing in red and green on Sunday!!

I know that for the Tyrone game for each ticket you bought you had to buy a raffle ticket that cost €10, but €1,000 for 4 tickets ?, surley it is a package, can you give more details ?

I Kerry we operate a ticket purchase scheme. For a donation of €350 you are guaranteed tickets for every championship match involving Kerryfor 5 years.

What I was told is that you buy batches of 4 tickets from the county board and the price is €1,000. No package. They have a function on Thurs night in the TF in Castlebar in conjuction with MWR afaik whereby they will have a raffle. You buy a raffle ticket for €20 and if you're 1 of 20 names pulled out, you can buy a ticket.

    .

Sounds like a very fair system to me.

Yea that's a great system, my girlfriend is in it and has no worries about any tickets, and in Kerry you will get a lot more Championship games in 5 years than you would in Mayo.

I would presume then that they selling a corportate package. There is no way on earth they could sell regular seats with a printed price of €60 or Hill 16 tickets with a printed price of €30 (I think) for €250 each. Corportate and Permium tickets do not have a price printed on them.
In that case if anyone wahts to treat themselves or someone else then fair play to them, that's what money is for, spending.....

There's a player on the team who's a good friend of mine for many years and he's not a man to bu!!****. As far as he was aware, they are Cusack Stand tickets, the normal €60 ones and unfortunately, these are the ones that are being sold at €250 each. I've checked elsewhere this morning after I heard this and the story has been coroborated by one other person, a club official. I really wish this wasn't the case por (and I stand to be corrected if the information I got is incorrect) but the guy that told me initially is very genuine.

I have sent an e-mail to the pro of the county board asking about this, lets see what happens. Does the CB have a central phone number, all I can find on their site are the numbers for each officer, i do not wish to contact them directly until I have more info, if it is true as you say threebeards that they are Cusack Stand then a big deal will have to be made about this.

I agree 100%. Don't know about a central CB number but will try and find out and let you know.

No excuse for that. Both teams get a Toyota car to raffle & that should be the end of holiday & training fund stuff.

Didn't find a central number but phoned the county treasurer and asked if such an arrangement existed. He denied it (although hesitantly) so I suppose I'll begrudgingly have to take him at his word although I'll still be keeping my ears to the ground.

Have heard the same rumour from me da in law, works for a local paper so it seems this may be true.
As are the stories where each school was given a signed jersey and raffle tickets (€5) to win 2 all-ireland tickets.
So it seems that OUR All-IReland tickets are been used by the likes of Prenty and Muldoon to fatten the training fund, what a load of co*k
After missing only 1 league match this with me da we have both now decided to boycott next years campaign in protest
