    Here are the finalists for this years Shortlist Music Prize, cut down from the 70 nominations on the longlist;

    Air - "Talkie Walkie"
    Dizzee Rascal - "Boy in Da Corner"
    Franz Ferdinand - "Franz Ferdinand"
    Ghostface Killah - "The Pretty Toney Album"
    The Killers - "Hot Fuss"
    Loretta Lynn - "Van Lear Rose"
    Nellie McKay - "Get Away From Me"
    The Streets - "A Grand Don't Come for Free"
    TV on the Radio - "Desparate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes"
    Wilco - "A Ghost Is Born"

    How did The Killers make the cut? Then again, how did Damien Rice win last year...

    Winner will be announced November 10th in Los Angeles.

    Well none of my top 3 albums of the year (Morrissey-you are the quary,McLusky- the difference between me and you is im not on fire,Mission of burma on off on) even made the long list.
    Belle & Sebastian, "Dear Catastrophe Witness"
    Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, "Streetcore"
    Are the best on the long list but neither made the pretty crappy shortlist.

    Fairly crap shortlist alright compared to some of the great albums they had to pick from on the long list, if I was to bet I think it will be won by
    Franz Ferdinand - "Franz Ferdinand"
