unwanted window on startup

When I boot Windows Xp I get an unwanted window opening

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Programs and that has another "startup" folder in it.

A search on google told me to look in
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

to see if there was anything that could be causing it. I couldn't find anything that seemed to be the culprit.

I ran Registry Mechanic but that didn't help.

Is there other software that would find the problem?

Have you tried Adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com, to check for spyware, ensure you run the webupdate within the program after install.

Also update Antivirus definitions and check for possible virus.

What exactly is in the unwanted window?

Check your startup folder to see if there's a folder in it. Sounds funny but:

Right click on your start button, select explore. A folder will be highlighted. Select Programs\startup

If there is a folder, or shortcut to a folder in there, delete it (make sure it's nothing you want). I'd say it's a shortcut to itself.

If that doesn't work, check "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" for the same thing.

    Good luck. :)

I've attched two images of what I'm getting. I can't delete them as Windows says they're system folders.

I've run Adaware and spybot and checked for viruses but it didn't find anything.

The window that's coming up is

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Programs and theres a startup folder there. Isn't this a programs/startup too many?

Looks like you've created a copy of it, or a shortcut.

    You should delete the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Programs, but leave the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Which directory is it whining about being a system folder?
