    Speaking of back doors...
I want to get into www.buyandsell.ie but the company's firewall blocks access. Anybody any ideas how to get in?
    I can't download anything so that's out.

Try using the IP address of the server okidoki987.

As accustomed as I am to using non work related sites during business hours , I have managed to find a very nice way around most firewalls for all sites.

Go to altavista.com and then translate and type in the address you want to go to, then select Chinese to English for translation. This will let you access most sites , but can be slow sometimes.

Ballooba, not really up to speed on computer stuff.
How would I go about doing that?

    Verdaamt
Tried that but unfortunately didn't work.

Been working for me for the past 6 months. If you use the IP address like Ballooba said Internet Explorer will eventually resolve the address and the proxy server in your network will pick it up, so that doesn't work either, unless you are using a really old version of Explorer.

Knowing how much boards.ie can make you smarter in life with so many 'experts' around, maybe you'll be better equipped to do your job.

Now as a side note, can you get onto the land registry for me, and ask them why it takes two years to map my 'new' house, which means that the documents i require to sell my house, are in limbo?

Search google for a free proxy and you can view the site through it.

    Woh there cowboy.

Nothing like using a proxy to bypass security to get you fired.

Almost nothing is blocked in my work place. Whenever I want to view/download something slightly dubious from a work point of view (password recovery tools would be an example) I go through the proxy via an SSH tunnel to another proxy. Talk about jumping through hoops ... ;)
