I need to do a number of product shots and this includes photographing the CDs...any tips for getting a good looking shot?

(I realise flash is probably out given the very reflective surface...I'm looking for the sort of rainbow colours effect...)

    Thoughts?

Hmm, thought you'd have at least a couple of responses to this one...

Anyway, here's my 5c. Looking at a CD I have here, the colour spectrum seems to "burst" out from the parts where the light source in this room are reflected, so maybe for dramatic effect you should use several lights (I don't even mean studio lights).

Also, (another 5c) everyone knows what a CD looks like, round and sparkly. what about an unusual camera angle? go real close up so you see a bit of the central hole and some sort of unusual reflection. Or close up and focusing on the reflection of something else seem on the disc. Just be creative is what I'm saying. You've got a digital, don't you? Best thing for experimenting...

    Best of luck,

    B.

if you have a digital you may be able to experiment to produce great effect with a flash, also if you have any star filters and can get some sharp light sources reflecting you might get something interesting but just suggestions,

    man I want a digital camera :/
