Hard Drive Probs

    My hard drive has seemed to have given out My computer crashed and then it wouldn't get past the post messages when I disconnected my hard drive in question it booted up fine and I installed windows onto a second hard drive

    Anyway long storey short I've stuff on the drive I'd like to recover but the drive isn't recognised any more!

    Any Ideas?

    The drive is a Maxtor ATA133 120GB 8MB cache and it was the master drive on the Primary IDE

    Did you check your BIOS settings, as in master and slave?

    need more details, exactly what had been happening when your drive started failing, can you input user settings in bios to get the drive to work? did you try the drive on different ide channel, like try the secondary master, or try it on another computer and se if it picks up! if none of that works can you give me more details about what happened and any changes or anything you may have done,could also check the PCB on the drive for damages, how is your system temp and air flow and how hard does the drive needs to work when you using your PC! many things could be the reason but I cant think of which is the possible reason till you give me more details, finding the reason may find solution!
