Some bad news for people getting new DVD Players. They plan to slap the region code straight into the hardware. So no more software hacks to play DVD's. Total rip off if you ask me.

Funny thing is they are saying they are going to do this because of piracy... but the DVD's were only hacked recently?

A lot of drive already have a region build in but most of them do it by removing a jumper and inserting a region coded DVD and this will set the region code for good. The Pioneer a03s is a nice little region free drive and cheap 65 sterling from insight. Anyway its only a matter of time untill a mod chip or a Firmware flash would come out for a firm ware region code.
