Corrupted MP3's

Right, MP3's come corupted and go all digital noise at a point in the song but if you press pause and play again it goes back to the music or if you slide the bar past the point where it corrupted its fine. SO obviously the music is there in some fashion. Is there any software that repairs MP3's?

Would converting it to another format and back again fix this apart maybe from a little blip in the song where the corruption would normally have started?

Is this an obvouse one/ has it been discussed before?

This could be a 'fake' MP3 shared by the record company to try and thwart P2P users.

If not, try another player (Windows Media Player, Winamp, foobar2000) or run it through MP3Trim.

if your talking about corrupted mps from kazaa then theres nothing you can do
the riaa have flooded the fasttrack network with thousands of fake files to deter filesharers

read about how kazaa are suing them here http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20040908006085&newsLang=en

I might gather them all up (the ones i have so far plus any further ones i get) and burn to audio cd (normal cd, not mp3) via nero and then rip them back and see if that will 'cleanse' them.

Is Kazaa Lite not the most used and therefore most yielding. I mean 90% of the time i have no probs or i choose the tracks that don't have the most users or the wrong artist listing and stuff.

You may use this as an opportunity to highlight my lack of knowledge btw - if your a cruel bstrd.

If the mp3s have the sort of digital distortion (deafening) sound to them they are phucked. Nothing you can do, sorry.

If you want a decent P2P client for mp3s: http://www.download.com/3000-2166-10174222.html

The best for mp3s imho, no corrupt ones, at times finding obscure or otherwise unpopular music may be difficult. But at least anything you get works.

    Enjoy.
