    Hi folks,
    and thanks for help with last problem, which was burnt out power supply.as suspected. Got it fixed in a hurry by those nice people at the Computer Hospital.They're not cheap, though.
    I hadn't disabled automatic updates, and eventually gave in to to the damn annoying pop-up, which seems to think that restart later means 5 minutes later, and my Aldi wonder PC eventually let me know that
    \windows\system32\confiig\system is corrupt or missing.
    It was at this point I further screwed up by using the wrong disk. Of course, I have put the right disk in such a safe place that I can't find it.
    Anybody out there got the set-up cd rom for this machine, please?

    BTW have you all noticed how Gates's bloody system turns us all into Irish Catholics? I am an atheistic commie- loving Liberal bastard, but when my machine crashes, I always think it's my fault! :o
