Are DVD's universal or are they like the video tape crap, with the whole NTSC/PAL muc. If you buy a DVD movie in the U.S. do you have to change your screen refresh rate or what. Do DVD players play DVD's from both continents ? I'm already sick of saying DVD.
    That's it, no more.

I don't know about DVD players for TV, but the only thing stopping you playing US DVD's on an European DVD player is the region code.

But you can download a region breaker for pretty much every DVD player out there. It sets your region code to 0 (Play all regions).

Worst comes to worst, get a DVD player from the US and order your DVD's online from the states. Cheaper and better selection/quality.
