My brother says the best saxaphone to start of with is an old/2nd hand Selmer and a selmer mouthpiece as well. They're not cheap tho. My bro payed £600 sterling for his 1st. He's using a Selmer mark 6 now which cost £2600 sterling. So as you can see decent saxes are not el cheapo.

I've been playing sax for about 23 years now. Never heard of this make and price seems ridiculously low. Most student model saxes I'm aware of retail for about 600 euro here. One shop I know of Paul Ryan Music offers a rental scheme so you can try before you buy, by just paying a rental fee. I've recommended this to complete beginners when I've had no access to school instruments. I think a local supplier is useful to complete beginners for after sales service, reeds, mouthpieces.
As I said the price seems really low. Given the fairly complex mechanism compared to a trumpet, this price seems too good to be true. And when something seems too good to be true, it's usually a dud.

Other good student models: Arbiter, Jupiter, Conn and Yamaha at the top end for student models. Don't forget to look in Buy and Sell now. SOme students might be upgrading their old instruments so it's possible to pick something good second hand. A decent instrument will tend to hold its value if looked after.

One general thing about student models is the sound they produce is different to the professional models mainly due to the different metals used in the construction. They'll also have less features (no upper F#), no articulated table key, cheaper lacquer. And they probably won't last as long in general. I know a guy playing the same Selmer alto he bought 50 years ago. Needs a service now but still very playable and lovely rich sound.

That's cool man cheers, think i'll just go with one from Paul Ryans for the minute, do you give lessons? I'm fine with music theory, just need to learn how to play the instrument now!!
