    stupid question comming but i am not irish and was wondering who this guy was? I have not time last night to look for any marking as it was pissing out of the heavens

    Oh I've no idea. I just think it looks funny when people sit on the bench at night and the place is all lit up, and hes staring you in the face. Feel like punching the guy.

    It's Brenden Behan I think, that was one of his haunts along there. As for that picture, the background looks a little hazy as opposed to slightly out of focus which would look better. Seems like the light wasn't that great when you took the pictures. The seagull looks a little out of focus too put perhaps it's the compression. I like the last one, the grass is a nice shade

    Pic1 would have been better if BB was on the other side of the picture and the Royal canal on the other. But a good composition all the same.

    Pic2 of the seagull is good but would also benefit if you had a telephoto lens and a tripod. Taking pix of birdies is always going to be hard with a compact.
    Now if you got picture of the gull's head with just it's eye and feathers then I'd really love it ;)

    And finally, the landscape, well you weren't helped with absence of nice fluffy white clouds, and maybe focusing in on Howth with a bit of water and a bit of sky might have been better under the conditions.
