Anyone else listened to this yet?? I think it kicks ass & is so like the older decent Megadeth albums...... beats the pants of Metallica's St Anger anyday in my books...... that took months for me to like it, the new Megadeth album was instantly 'good' on the first time listen & on subsequent ones.... makes up for the last 3 bag 'o crap albums they put out....

I've had it for a few months, I got the leaked version, and bought the CD yesterday. Still sounds great after all those weeks listening to it :D

Hope Dave comes to Ireland on this tour..

i don't even like megadeth and i think this album is excellent stuff.

also, it's not particularly hard to make a better album then st.anger.

I think it's unbelievable - this is quintessential Mustaine!
It's got elements of everything, the riffs are KILLER and some melody runs remind me of RIP.
I havent been this excited listening to an album in years!

    I LOVE IT ! :D

I was going to post a thread asking if this album is any good. So its classic megadeath?

Metallica could take a leaf out of their book

I just got the album a couple of days ago, I love it, it just gets better every time I listen to it

I'm not mad about it TBH. I think it's about the same level as TWNAH ie- better than Risk, Cryptic Writings and Youthanasia but nowhere near as good as Rust In Peace. Still, respect to Dave Mustaine for putting out a decent album when so many of his generation are sucking down corporate jizz.

I'd urge you all to check out the new Mastodon album instead.

I've heard it a couple of times and I really like it, it's definately a return to form for me.
On a side note:I only found out a couple of days ago that Vinnie Colaiuta is the drummer on it, I couldn't fnckin' believe it  - my respect for him has increased ten fold since. He was always an absolutely amazing drummer with Sting etc but he has really adapted his style really well to suit Megadeth, you'd bearly know it was the same drummer, it's so unlike him.

Man i think TWNAH has got nothin on this one!
No one seriously expected RIP part 2, but riff-wise this comes quite close in my books! The riffs are seriously killer, give it a few more spins Doc :D
The Scorpion has to be one the best Megadeth song in years!

ok its better than what metallica come out with
but its still nothing compared to older megadeth but that can be said for pretty much everyband and their new albums
    o well
its alright but nothing to write home about lol
    :p

OK, maybe it's a little better than TWNAH, but not by much IMO. It's good, especially the Scorpion, but a little too designed for the big chorus for my tastes. It's good, yes, but maybe I'm destracted by finally landing Unquestionable Presence on cd off the Bay after all this time
    :D

it's pretty good. I was slighty dissapointed.. It's a bit too melodic for megadeth.. But even still, a good peice of metal... At least as good as Youthanasia

I was hugely disappointed on the first few listens and I thought it was barely an improvement on TWNAH (a one-star album in my ears). But I gave it a few more spins, and lo and behold it grew on me like, um, ivy.

It's something of a cross between 80s and 90s Megadeth, finally getting that balance right again between metal riffs and melody, something they've struggled with since "Countdown to Extinction". 'Blackmail the Universe' and 'Truth Be Told' are old-school, 'Die Dead Enough', 'Something That I'm Not', 'Back in the Day' have teriffic hooks; and 'Shadow of Deth' is hilarious in the same way that 'Prince of Darkness' was on "Risk".

It's not RIP ... it's not, ok? But it's the best surprise since Anthrax's "We've Come For You All".

Yep I do like this CD,(€19.99 HMV) at the mo my fave song is ‘of mice and men’ , maybe it’s just me but I think from song 6-12 are much better than 1-5, maybe I just need to play it a little more.
