I have a number accounts on my xp for the different users on my system however i am the only one who is an admin. The rest have limited accounts.
Firefox does not work on the other accounts unless they are administrators.
Is this just the way it is or am i missing something? Any advice on how to get it working across all users?

    What version of XP?

I use XP home and myself and the better half use Firefox on our respective accounts without problem (I am an admin, she is not).

When you were installing it, did it ask you if you want it made available for every user of this computer? (I don't think it did when I was installing it).

Also, when you say it won't work, what exaclty do you mean? Does it give an error? Or can the non-admin account just not see the shortcut?

    XP Pro
It just cant find the shortcut and i cant navigate to where it is. Might be the place i installed it. I haven't made any folders unavailable to anyone.
I might reinstall. Don't wanna lose my settings though.

If you installed it into C:\Program Files\Mozilla, you should in theory be able to copy a shortcut from Firefox.exe to the desktop or shortcut bar. Give that a go.

I know for a fact that each user's temp files and history are kept in their own mydocs directory, so permissions there shouldn't be a problem.

    Where did you install it?

I got it. Turns out the installer aims to install it to the documents and settings folder. I must have just clicked yes to it all the first time.
So the other users couldn't get to my documents folders.
I just reinstalled to c:\forefox and all can see it now.
Thanks for the advice on checking where i installed it. twas good.

    Cheers
    Shiv
