Best Home Recording Software?

    Hey Just got a new PC, and was previously using a 4 Track.. whats the best (read free handy to use) software to use, to record edit and mix multi tracks... and does anyone know if i can hook my guitar into the to my pc realitivly easy using the 3.5mm mic input on my soundcard...... Much Kudos to anyone offering info :eek:

    A friend of mine uses cool edit pro, he was able to plug his guitar into his soundcard and make his own tracks. The software gives you lots of samples and lets you add in various drum beats. well worth trying it out :cool:

    I'd go with sound forge too, I think there is a free programme called cool wave, Also there is a free Protools available on the DIGI Design Site. www.digidesign.com
