Spybot hanging at restore point

    Hey,

Just used ad aware and spybot for the first time. The former got most of the stuff quarantined, but spyboy still finds a couple more. Thing is it just sits there when I tell it to fix selected problems - it has the popup message saying creating restore point...HD works away...then nothing. Message stays, program is fine but nothing.

Researching shows the same files still there. Stupid Program or stupid me?

XP Home, Sygate personal firewall and firefox running...

    Thanks in advance.

I noticed the same myself recently. But it had not frozen just going very very slow. Try leaving it doing it's thing in the background and carry on surfing. It works for me.

Close down any programs which are running in the background...spybot will still search all directories and faster as more resourses are available

Disable the option to create a restore point every time you do a scan in spybot. It not really necessary.

also whats annoying is that thing that asks u everytime there a change to the registry. it was annoying me so much that i uninstalled spybot.

Fair enough. I guess I could do one manual restore point through XP myself first?

You can turn all that off if you want.

Bri: Go to start>all program>accesories>system tools>system restore if you want to create a restore point. ;)

did u know you can LOCK IE homepage in spybot?...explore the settings / update to latest version (1.3)
also disable all background programs when creating restore point OR doing a system restore...you get a cleaner reboot by doing so
