2 PC Wireless connectivity

This computer is running XP Home
I'm getting a second pc that will either be running XP Home or Pro

I want to set up a wireless network, so this computer (with it's dsl connection) can share all with the computer upstairs or in another room.

I'm guessing the computer with the net currently connected via usb to the dsl router needs to get a NIC which in turn must be connected to a wireless hub?
And then the new pc will need some kind of wireless receiving adapter to communicate wirelessly with the pc with net access.

Obviously I haven't a clue what I'm talking about but can some1 give me a brief rundown on what I need to buy or maybe point me towards a good guide...
