Just wondering if any of you girls have used these new straighteners. I use a GHD at the moment and find it excellent but quite harsh on my hair. I do use the serum but find it can often make your hair greasy. What do most of you girls use to straighten your hair?

Sorry meant to say I saw the Wet to Straight product in Boots recently and it seems too good to be true. Has anyone used it?

I was wondering about that too. Seems to be quite new so I doubt if many will have tried it. To be honest it seems a bit too good to be true. I don't think you'd get the same results as if you blowdry your hair first. Especially near the root....
Plus, I think it could be more damaging to your hair. Wonder whats so different about it that it dries your hair? Cos I remember being told never to use straighteners on wet hair.
Anyway, no help at all there sorry...!

I use a Remington ceramic straightner that I bought for E35 which is flaming excellent. My hair is strong and wiry and as such, doesn't straighten easily, but the Remington does it with no problems. However, I don't use it too often, about once a month to be honest.

I'd love an easier way to straighten my hair, as it takes me about 10-15 mins with the irons. Must investigate this product. Is it expensive?

Sassy me too - I didn't think you could use a straightener on wet hair. Does really seem too good to be true.

Dudara - I got my GHD last xmas for €150 in Peter Marks and it is excellent. I'm using it a bit too much though and it does take its toll on your hair. It only takes me a few mins to straighten mine after I've blowdried it - but I have really fine hair so it'd depend on the thickness of your hair.

Really though the best result is getting it professionally blowdried by the hairdresser - they just have the knack of making your hair look its best and silky smooth. If only we could afford our own hair stylists - sure we can dream on....

Well I have the ghd aswell, i think its brilliant... but ive only used it a few times!!
I hate straightening my hair because it takes really long , i have really curly hair.
You shouldnt use a straightener on wet hair because it burns your hair and makes it really frizzy, it wrecks your hair!
I was wondering about which products to use when using the ghd, anyone know any good ones??

Use the ceramic on clean hair, with no product. Otherwise you run the risk of burning the product onto the hair shafts, causing damage. After I'm finished I use a little gloss serum just to smooth and define the ends, but that's all.

    Hi,

I also use the Remington straightners - they are brill. I defo wouldn’t go anywhere near the wet to dry ones- I’d say your hair would be wrecked within a week. I use hair spray instead of serum because it makes my hair greasy within a day.

This spray was recommended to me by my hairdresser "Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner" - you can get it in Boots for around €4.50 and it is very good. Much better than using the sticky serums.

I bought GHD's last march for E155. They're excellent but they're ruining my hair because I use them too often. In the space of 3 months I can get up to 5 inches of split ends, even though I use protective spray. Its a vicious circle really, the GHD is destroying my hair but I can't go to school or go out without GHDing my hair because it looks awful otherwise. Its all dry and disgusting and has the consistency of straw normally.

    *sigh*

I use that as well and really works! A friend of mine bought those wet to straight straighteners from Boots and they are already damaging her hair even tho she's been using ghd for months without any problem. Maybe it's only her but its def put me off trying them!
