Still wondering about still life photos. Does this qualify?
    It's a photo of a sheeps head

I was expecting an eye ball photo, not half a donkeys head...not sure if qualifies as still life

well for a start it's not still life. I don't think this photo is very good at all, sorry but that's just my opinion.

Well, I suppose if the sheep was dead then it might constitute "still" ;)

Have to agree with FX, there's not much to interest me in that pic, I have to say.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
Well I thought it was an interesting subject, well I did the best I could with it. I took this picture at an agricultural show and in the sheep section there was this fella in a pen on his own - nothing much exciting I agree. He was just standing there, doing nothing, proabably pissed-off that he's at this show and not screwing a few ewes.
All he had going for him was his golden fleece. Which is unusual, when white or cream is the norm.
And he was pretty ugly as sheep go, so I decided to go for his eye and the white wood fading into the gold.
Anyway, I thought it was good probably not good enough. Thanks for the feedback

I kind of like it. Unusual composition, which draws your attention away from the sheep's eye (i.e. the subject of the photo) and on to the different hues and textures of the sheep's coat. I like that.

It's a striking image due to its composition, and provoked my attention. From what you wrote up there, you certainly seemed to achieve what you wanted, so well done!
