It would be eaiser just to buy a Plasma TV and use it as a monitor.

Nay! Plasma TV's can't display the higher resolutions that TFT monitors can.

If you want to go with the TFT with the TV Tuner, check the response time, you're looking for a figure in milliseconds, 45 is VERY bad, 12 is very good.. That will affect fast moving things like sports or action movies, and ones with slow response times will look ghosted.
There are two options, and I seriously suggest you look up a few reviews (there are loads of stickies on this) for each one. First, you can go with the one with built in TV tuner, for the sake of simplicity, and convenience, or, you could get a TFT that is rated better as a monitor, and then get an external box to translate the TV signal into VGA, which will probably give you a remote control too. It'll be about 50 -100 yoyos though, so, in the end it'll work out more, but you'll have the best of both worlds.
Of course, if you have a desktop machine (not a laptop) yo could buy a TV card for it, which is MILES better, and you could record yourself kicking lumps out of your mates on the XBox.
As it so happens, I just dismantled and sold my last desktop and have one going a begging. 40 quid, a free PCI slot and it's all yours. :D

Definitely the first one, for starters, it's Viewsonic model, branded, and probably better support.
The bezel around it, is way thinner too, going to look much nicer. Plus, the Viewsonic is a 19", not an 18", and though there's not much in it, you should be looking to get more screen and less bezel for your money.
The one nice thing the other one has is Picture in Picture, which allows you to watch TV in a small window while you work away on your PC. That said, you won't be able to concentrate on either! If you go the TV card route, you'll be able to do that anyway, plus, you get to decide where the TV window is, and what size etc.
Read around for reviews, TV cards were not all born equal, and WinTV PVR is great if you're prepared to pony up > €150 for it.
