    Hi,

I was just wondering does anyone here know what the retail price for the DVD is going to be here in Ireland,

I asked in xtra-vision yesterday but they said there computer showed a €100 which wasn't right.

The reason I ask is because I have them pre-ordered from Amazon (cost will be aboput €45) but they won't be delivered till at least the end of next week, and I have heard there is a possibility that a lot of shops here will put them on the shelves this weekend even though the official release date is the 20th.

And I'm not sure if i can wait till the end of next week as this weekend I would have time to watch them..

    Ok Just an Update.

Xtravision still has the price of €100 but say that this is not correct.
Virgin have a price of €80 but I was informed by staff there that there is a dispute with the distributer and that this price is nto correct and it should be cheaper.

Also that in virgin they said that it is very likely that they will have it for sale at the weekend.

I was in there today and they have a siplay stand set up with all empty boxes, and loads of posters. Also in Golden discs they where settign up the display stand adn they had the dvd's behind the counter taking them out of there boxes to put on the empty cases on the stand.

I ordered mine from play.com for £27.99 sterling (delivered), which works out at around €42.00, and I know from pre-ordering in the past, they usually ship a couple of days before the official release date, so the wait may not be as long as you might think.

Virgin told me it would be 90 euro.

Im getting mine of amazon, its not the cheapest but cos ill be getting other stuff at the same time itll work out ok in price.

Ordered from play too. For that price you can't refuse and I see it is shipping today. With so many orders it's pot luck when it will arrive but I can wait. They are only the special editions after all :)

I was in Dublin city today and just on the off chance i took a walk down to grafton street, I checked tower records and they had it for sale
€59.99 so I resisted temptation and thought to check Game, and yes they had it on sale.

€49.99 and a sign said this was a limitied offer till the 20th of September I just happened to have a game €5 rewards voucher so I now own the Star Wars Trilogy, I also chacked game in dawson street they had the stand but no boxes.

I havent had a chance to watch them yet but I am going to over the weekend, I did start up A New Hope and watched the first 20 Minutes, the quality is amazing, you have never seen the films look so good even in the cinema.

I picked it up in HMV in Limerick on Friday night for €55. I was told by a friend of mine that the silver boxed sets had Return of the Jedi on the New Hope disc aswell as the ROTJ disc but that the HMV Special Gold boxes were fine. Sure enough the set I have is fine but the same thing happened in XtraVision in Limerick and Ennis. It could be Tuesday before a lot of places has stock of the silver box sets. Bummer.

I have the gold box. It is Widescreen.
The Gold Box is a limited edition version on sale from HMV only.
The movies within the box are exactly the same as the silver box, same dvd covers, same discs.
