Could someone tell me when/if the prerelease is scheduled to go ahead this weekend and where its to be held?

I've tried ringing the number given for the organiser but keep getting no connection.

    Thanks,

    K

So how did everyone do at the prerelease on sunday? I came 15th with my G/W beatdown deck, but i was a fool not to splash either black (for nezumi graverobber, cutthroat, ronin, marrow-gnawer) or red (for ryusei, yamambushi flame, yamabushi storm etc)
and i came up against Ivan and Pavel :(

    Hey guys,

Cheers for showing up and hope everyone had a good time. It was the biggest pre-release ever held in Ireland (and in fact the largest non-nationals competition ever too), so we are really happy that things ran smoothly and (hopefully) a fun time was had.

yup, i really enjoyed myself despite a poor performance. My first time being at the release of a whole new block which made it extra good fun. Opened a foil boseiju at the very end to cheer me up a bit :)

I can never beat Pavel, his bleedin affinity deck is fast¬!

seems he has quite a fanclub :D theres plenty of ammo to disrupt affinity with. Try running a red deck with plenty of electrostatic bolts and shocks to get rid of his ravagers froggies and enforcers, then cripple him with a trinisphere or imi statue. Either that or face him with your own affinity deck :)www.brainburst.com for deck ideas

    how do you mean?

I can't say that ive ever played pavel in a constructed game, but if i did i'd probably run my own affinity (despite only having 1 ravager). I find that broodstar works kinda well-its hard for the average affinity deck to deal with if they lose any steam in the first few turns.

Easy Money is a poker phrase that has been taken into magic and means you could take their money (aka beat them) easily.

He's actually quite a good player though, but can be predictable in his deck choices.

btw, if you want to beat a single deck, the solution is not to play the same deck. Then you win at best half the time. Even broodstar can be killed by a significant number of cards in the affinity deck, and doesnt survive the dragon based sideboarding strategies of the standard affinity deck.
