Noticed that also. But I imagine the ad breaks are allowed per hour, and not per programme. I stand corrected.
Also one thing annoyes me about TV3 News. For example, last week during the siege at the Russian school, TV3 News went "Live" to a correspondent from.....Danish Television.....
As TV3 are showing many programmes from the ITV Network, one would assume that they would use the correspondents and news footage from the ITV News Channel.

Was speaking to one of the SKY Ireland crew a few weeks back, and he said to me "we have big plans for TV3". He said something like they hope to do the news for TV3 the way there are going to do it for FIVE in the UK.

Afaik, there is a limit on the amount of time that can be dedicated to an ad break per hour. So they could have loads of 1 minute ad breaks but only say four 3 minute breaks. Do correct me if i'm wrong.

TV3 should do naked news tbh. Its already a hit in Russia and has/is starting in the UK soon.

Although then again, Alan Cantwell *shudder.*

I can see Sky News getting a contract from TV3 for news coverage. Five News is currently with ITN, the same folk behind ITV and Channel 4 News, but that changes in the new year. Kirsty Young will probably still present it, but from the Sky Centre....

Off topic: naked news is brilliant compared to tv3 news.

I think it is even less particular than that - it is something like 9 minutes per hour of TV broadcast, per day, but that can be scheduled at any time during the day. Hence Prmetime might have 12 minutes, middle of night has none.

Watch Corrie on TV3 - I usually tape it - the ads breaks are up to 6 minutes long (I never forward the tape for less than 5 minutes to skip the break in Corrie on TV3). As well as that the ad breaks before and after are also longer than other stations. Corrie starts about 7:28pm on TV3 to allow for all this, and often ends later than on ITV.
