    TY = Transition year.

    Ideas? Read a Golden Pages for business ideas and don't be so lazy.

    rent a van, go to northern ireland, fill it full of beer / cider and fireworks. Sell them to the kids in your school.

    You could set up a pyramid scheme, get 5 people to give you 500 euros each, they then find 5 people to give them 500 euros (you get 75% of this) etc etc

    You wont get an A, but you will make a profit!

    Failing that, If you have computer skills set up websites for some local business / sole traders etc (Wireless)network pcs? take spyware of PCs?

    Odd Jobs? Window cleaning / car valet / grass cutter

    Give grinds to junior certs?

    just try and spend your year doing something you are interested in, I would list my hobbies / interests and try and thing of a business for each one.

    if you need a hand list them here and see what people say?

    Use your imagination.

    Please don't tell me you don't have one.

    Think about what you want to get out of it.

    Its a competition right?

    The aim is might be to win some prizes, and there are lots of prizes to choose from, some with seriousish prize money.

    So pick a prize to aim for... and find out the criteria for winning it, then run your company to meet those criteria.

    Another aim might be to get some evidence of your skills on your CV, if so think about what skills you have that curently you can't prove to an employer... maybe this is a chance to get that proof?

    What you don't want to do is come up with a really good idea within the framework of a mini-company, because then it won't be 'yours', so stick to just playing the game...

    One approach is to start by doing something to raise money, raffles, discos, providing some sort of service car valeting .... and do that for a period of time to raise money.... then move to phase two and use the money to buy something to trade, or buy materials to make something...
