 Just a warning to anyone, or knows anyone who will be playing with this band NOT to lend them any of your equipment.

A friend of mine played with them in Eamonn Dorans on August 12th and lent the drummer a snare piece which he subsequently stole, oh I'm sorry, accidentally packed away with his stuff which was brought home by someone else. He got a number for them but they don't seem to like answering calls or returning texts.

The piece he lent costs about 100Euro new to replace.

Have they been to the police yet??
Or do you know when these guys are playing again and turn up for a face to face.

Anyone here know this band??????

I live with a drummer and I KNOW kits and etc etc are NOT cheap.
What he did was cold.

I don't know them personally but I've seen them play once or twice.
Very good. Tight and all that.
Talked to them once.
Seemd like nice guys.

I think a friend of mine might know the guitarist.

I'm sure they are nice guys but they seem to have caused buggles friend a problem.
If you know someone who knows them pass this along and maybe the problem can be resolved.

The fact if they're nice guys isn't really relevant.

The drummer borrowed something, packed it away and took it home.
Didn't seem to give too much of a sh*t at the time, gave a number so my friend could call him to arrange returning it and since then he hasn't bothered answering any of the many calls, messages or texts left/sent by my friend so he can get back HIS property.

Actually, they don't really sound that nice to me.

I think someone I know may be friends with them (or maybe just a fan, I can't remember), but I'll have a talk with her anyway and see if she knows someone, or can do something herself

I know, doesn't really make you confident to be generous with your stuff on the gig circuit, no honour among musicians anymore.

Ok, indeed she does have his email and phone number and is going to have a 'chat' with him, so tell your friend not to replace his part just yet buggles.

'Fraid not, not a peep from the offending party.

May have to take up Jill's offer of his address, 100Euro ain't nothing to be sneezed at.

Bloody scumbag. Get the address and turn up at his door. That should shake him up enough to make the right decision

Ok ok ok, I'm going down to near where he lives in a couple of hours and chances are I'll more then likely see him for a 'word', but failing that the address is all yours, you might also want to plague their website a bit http://www.geocities.com/noahttj/guestbook.html but don't mention me cause they'll react very badly, occasionaly violently, they don't like anything bad being said about any of them or their friends as you'll probably see if you browse their forum a bit. I'll do what I can though and I'll get you that address too..

Thank you for all your help :D but please do not put yourself in a difficult or dangerous situation

If you feel comfortable pass on his details to me and I'll get it sorted ;)

what happened? what happened? We have to know!!! If you didn't go over in the end you should at least call 5-0 and report it stolen. Me I'd beat him like he was a drum

Yeah, I need closure.

Destination: Blacklist

Population: Noah Takes The Jungle

Buggles, don't worry about sorting this out yourself, just go straight to the law and see how the guy reacts when they show up at his door. Hmmmm, you could even take them, as a group, to the small claims court, that'd be fun, but go straight to the law first. See how happy the guys are with their drummer when their name is shyt. Then call every venue you see these guys are going to play in and let the owners/promoters know exactly what kind of scum they are. Man, you don't steal off other bands, you just don't.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 buggles

First off, thanks for all your support.
There's no closure yet, still waiting on his contact details.

Doctor J, I agree with you, I want to hit them where it really hurts, however some other people I know want to
beat him like he was a drum

I want their reputation in the gutter, with no-one willing to play with them.
Other than what he did being illegal you are absolutely right,
YOU DON'T STEAL OFF OTHER BANDS

There's been offers of people, large people, willing to go and collect the snare piece. I'm just trying to figure which will get the best result?

Bollox Bollox Bollox!! Apparently he lives in the middle of nowhere and NOBODY knows his address, I even asked his best friend an he doesn't know, its meant to be amongst some sheep and fields, but I have passed on lots of words... angry ones at that that will reach him soon enough, but in the mean time do you want to give me the number he gave your friend and I'll see if its the right one. I did hear they've been recording a new cd for the past ages that only finished yesterday so maybe now we''l see more action on their behalf.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 buggles

Well that's handy for him.
The number was for the lead singer, and my friend gave him his.
I'll get the number and pm you.

• Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

You know his name, you know the name of his band. I'll bet the local law in his area know where he lives. Get the authorities onto it. It will get a result. Don't waste your own time (and possibly get into shyt yourself) by dealing with asshole personally. Get the authorities onto it and threaten him with a court appearance. You will get your piece back a lot quicker than showing up at his front door threatening violence. You will only get yourself into grief choosing that path.

As for the rest of us, well these chaps have a guestbook. I suggest everyone lets them know what they think of bands who steal from other bands.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 buggles

Drum roll please!!! :D

Seems our little fiends, oops, friends, weren't abducted by aliens or sucked into the twilight zone as they graciously contacted TWO members of the band yesterday/today.

The bullsh*t spewed forth as,
1) Phone was in for repair, lost all the numbers
2) I was away

Obvious discrepancies in their stories aside it's a start.
I'll post as soon as the snare piece is back with it's rightful owner.

THANKS to everyone for your support regarding this matter and hopefully this will be a lesson to people that it's not nice to steal from other musicians as it pis*es them off.

Also that the children in this band learn
IT IS A SMALL WORLD

Well it seems that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword.

Our drummer friend returned the snare piece this evening :D

Now this could be because they discovered it's not acceptable to steal other musicians stuff, or that other musicians found out about it (thanks to Boards!!) and they are looking to keep on gigging.

The support and help to get this sorted is really appreciated.

Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else but if it does take a lesson from this and let all other musicians know about it.
Can't buy reputation.

THANK YOU :D:D:D
