A sweet victory indeed,to go ahead on the roll of honour was what made it so vital for us to win today.
That record is important to us and no way were we going to let it go.
Tough on Kilkenny but they haven't had a bad innings under Cody in fairness!

That's not true. Plenty of people here gave Cork a chance. Me for one.

Well played Cork. I thought at half-time that maybe it was going to be Kilkenny's day, after Cork hitting the bar and missing the follow-up. But fair play to the rebel's for the domination of the second half and running out easy winners in the end. It could have been closer had Kilkenny got a goal they were so desperately trying to get and they were close on at least one occasion.

The stats read at the end that Cork scored 17/32 chances and Kilkenny 8 from 26 chances, a woeful return, and I believe only 2 pts in the whole of the second half. Antrim hurlers have played better!

It just shows how hard a 3 in a row can be.

Cocky, arrogant. Just two words I can think of to describe the Kilkenny supporters. After the semi-final in Croke Park I never experienced anything like the jeering and taunting while driving back to Waterford that night.

I'd love to see the faces on those "supporters" now. Still it was fairly quite in the office today. Its amazing how many Kilkenny supporters come out of the woodwork when they win something. Not many around today.

Waterford won the Munster Championship. Wexford the Leinster Championship. Cork the All-Ireland. All Kilkenny won this year was the Rose of Tralee.

I am really, really suprised at the amount of bad feeling shown in this thread to Kilkenny. I assume that you were all at the game, were you??

Kilkenny were gracious in defeat and fair play to Cork, they were the better team on the day.

Cody and the boys will sit down and regroup, there may even be some changes. Before anybody thinks Kilkenny are finished or anything silly like that look at the minor and U21 teams we have. We'll be back in 2005, hungry and looking for revenge, you had all better beware!

I'm not even going even wasting my time commenting on that

I think alot of the reason there is an anti kilkenny sentiment is due to a poster called Kilkennycat who has been shooting his mouth off for the last few months about how great a side Kilkenny are. I agree, I think they are a great side but I do not need someone to tell me that on a daily basis. Then when they lose the final he keeps a low profile and does not have anything to say. He has not been seen to be gracious in defeat!

    KilkennyCat is a she.

Speaking of not being seen tho...The Kilkenny jersey has become an endangered species in Waterford. For the month of August and the first 2 weeks in Sept they were all over the city but curiously enough all have disappeared now ;)

Apparantley Waterford jerseys were pretty scarce down there since August 8th. Couldn't resist it. ;)

Regardless of the gender, who really gives a toss.

Kilkenny have had a good innings under Cody, 6 finals in 7 years. At the end of the day Kilkenny couldn't match Cork. I don't think it was matter of hunger or of one side being better hurlers than the other. I think it Kilkenny lost this year because since 1999 not one team in the country could match them for hurling skill, but since 2002 things began to change. Munster in the last three years has produced some quality hurling and Wexford were brilliant. It was only a matter of time before a team with the ability to match Kilkenny came on the scene. Kilkenny were a great team and still are and have some extremely good players, but so do Cork, Waterford and Wexford.

Can we stop this silly slagging and discuss why Cork won/ Kilkenny lost on the basis of the match.

My personal position about the bad feeling towards the kats is as waylander pointed out the boards reaction to certain arrogent posters, I feel its deserved for the short term and to be honest the rules are not really being broken...

    But lets keep things civil
